KS2029 Daugmale Ear Pins
Viking age (900-1200 AD). Religious amulet from the end of the Viking age. The motif symbolizes Jesus as the lamb and God ( »Angus Die« ) The amulet was found in bronze at the Fort Daugmale, Lithuania.
The Vikings traveled through the Baltic Sea and found their way to the Black Sea, through the Volga and Daugava rivers. In the Daugmale excavations were found many hundreds of jewelry items in bronze, silver and gold. Some are local productions, some are brought there from the Scandinavian countries.
Comes with brochure detailing the age and the place of origin of the original.

Diameter: 21 mm.

KS429-1 Thor's Hammer Earrings
Museum reproduction, Viking Age 1000AD. A small undecorated silver pendant discovered near Sejerby, Sejerų, Denmark, the original find is currently on display at the Danish National Museum. Miniature Thor's hammers were widely used as religious amulets during the Viking era. In pre-Christian times The Germanic god Thor (Old English Thunor or Thor, Old German Donar, Norse Thor/Tor) was the god of thunder and of a fruitful harvest.

The word hammer (English hammer, Swedish hammare, Icelandic/Old Norse hamarr) is an ancient indo-european word that means "stone", "stone tool", "stone slope" or "rock". Click here to see the original. Comes with brochure detailing the age and the place of origin of the original.

Viking age (900-1200 AD). The Motif is related to a brooch found in Denmark. It is called Urnęs-style, from church near Urnęs in Norway.
